Why I built it
The whisper is rarely “skip it”
It is “you have time.” The adhan goes, you answer it under your breath, and you turn back to the screen. The work always feels like one more minute. By the time you look up, the jamaat has started without you.
Jazm answers the delay with a lock. A few minutes before jamaat the screen goes over to the Salah, and the device locks the way it already locks when you step away. There is nothing left on the screen to hold you. So you stand up, and you go.
Give it one day. Notice where you are standing when the iqamah is called.
Install
Two minutes, once
Download Jazm, drag it into Applications, and give it your masjid's jamaat times. It runs from the menu bar from then on.

One file, for Apple silicon and Intel.
Right click Jazm, then Open
Choose Open again when macOS asks. After that, a double click works.
Enter your masjid's jamaat times
Settings opens on its own. Enter the times from your masjid.
Turn on Open at login
The ring in your menu bar fills as the next lock nears, so you always know how long you have.

Is Jazm free?
Yes. Free to download and free to use. It works without an account.
What happens if I am on a call?
It waits. If a microphone or camera is on, the lock holds and tries again later. If the call runs long, it stays quiet and leaves the rest to you.
Where do the prayer times come from?
From your masjid. You enter the jamaat times once, and Jazm works offline after that.
What does it remember?
Only the prayers you mark as prayed, saved in a plain text file on your device.
What if I cannot pray right then?
Press Esc during the countdown for five more minutes. After you unlock, Close ends it there.
What happens on Fridays?
Jumu'ah takes the place of Dhuhr, with its own time and a longer window for the khutbah. You set it separately.
Which devices does it work on?
Mac for now. Other systems are on the way, inshaAllah.
What does it need to run?
macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. It only needs the screen lock.
How do I remove it?
Open Settings and choose Remove Jazm. It turns off Open at login, deletes its settings, and quits. Then drag the app to the Trash.
